Barely minutes into ep 4 of Will It Snow for Christmas and am reminded as to why I loved what bits of it I've seen as it aired. Lee Kyung Hee's dramas always create these layers of emotions of an almost hothouse intensity - the plot is always secondary to bringing out whatever mood, relationships and emotional truth she wants to convey. I have been catching up with Will It Snow on Christmas and it's such a lovely, undestated gem of a drama.

The notable thing is the plot development that bothered me so when I first learned of it (Ji Wan's mother, due to psychological trauma, represses and regresses and believes Kang Jin is her dead son and Kang Jin goes along with it for 3 years) ( Read more... )

The drama winter season is about to kick into full swing - January is full of goodies. Jdrama Wallflower, about an eccentric extreme goth and four pretty boys she befriends starts this Thursday. 1. Congratulations to You're Beautiful for winning "favorite drama of 2009" poll. IRIS was second. Seeing how far ahead YAB was, I won't do a run-off. I don't want to break my heart again. Return of Iljimae won in the separate runner-up category, which made me happy ( Read more... )
